You have a Windows server on another provider and you have to migrate it to Clouding, this article will save you a lot of time especially if you were planning to move all the data manually. There is the option to create an image of your server and clone it as is to Clouding, this article is applicable to Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012 and 2016. The only downside of cloning a server this way is that if one day you expand the server disk you will have to extend the partition manually.
We will open Paragon and click on the tools button in the upper right corner and click on "Legacy Features":
Then we click on "Smart backup" and accept the first window, select "Disks or partitions" and check the "Basic MBR" of the disk (or disks) we want to add to the image. If we would like to exclude some partition of some disk, we simply uncheck it:
Then we select where we want to save the image (FTP, another local disk from which we are not going to make a copy, etc.):
Select the destination, finish the wizard and apply the changes.
Server migration in Clouding
If you are going to create an image for us to restore to a Clouding server our recommendation is that you create the image on an FTP that is already Clouding. This will make the restoration process faster. The restoration process has to be done by us, contact us at support when you have the image created.
