We have occasionally been asked how to install phpMyAdmin on the preinstalled Prestashop image and have seen that many customers/users need to install this software to modify the database. So in this tutorial, we will walk through the complete installation so you can access it without any problems.
The process is quite simple. First, you will need to connect via SSH to the server and install the corresponding package:
# apt update
# apt install phpmyadminAfter installation, you will need to run the following:
# ln -s /usr/share/phpmyadmin/ /var/www/html/prestashopFinally, you will need to restart FPM and Nginx:
## If you are using Prestashop 1.7:
# systemctl restart php7.2-fpm
# systemctl restart nginx
## If you are using Prestashop 8.x:
# systemctl restart php8.1-fpm
# systemctl restart nginxYou will now be able to access phpMyAdmin, from a web browser using the following URL (entering the server's IP address or the DNS record in question):
http://IP_SERVIDOR_O_REGISTRO_DNS/phpmyadminYou can log in with a MySQL user; you can use the same Prestashop user or create a new one. To check the Prestashop database user or configuration, you can run the following:
# grep 'database_' /var/www/html/prestashop/app/config/parameters.phpThe following article provides more information on How to manage users and permissions in MySQL.
