Dolibarr is an open-source ERP/CRM solution ideal for small and medium-sized businesses. Installing it on HestiaCP is straightforward thanks to the built-in quick installer. This article explains step by step how to install Dolibarr and have it running in just a few minutes.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have a server with HestiaCP installed. On Clouding, you can create one using the pre-installed HestiaCP image and follow our article Getting started with HestiaCP to configure it.
For security, we recommend that you create a user in HestiaCP to avoid adding web domains to the administrator account.
Dolibarr supports PHP up to version 8.2. If your server uses a higher version, such as PHP 8.3, we recommend that you switch to a compatible version to ensure that the installation and system work correctly.
Install Dolibarr with Quick Install App
Once you have created the user and added a domain, click the pencil icon and, in Edit Web Domain, click the Quick Install App button:
Select the Dolibarr installation by clicking the corresponding Setup button:
Make sure the PHP version is 8.2 or lower and click the Save button at the top right:
An alert like this will appear:
Return to Edit Web Domain and click the Advanced Options button to open a drop-down.
Select the checkbox labeled Custom document root and, in Directory, enter htdocs. Click the button labeled Save to save your changes:
To continue the installation, go to https://tudominio.com/install/ and you will see the Dolibarr Installation/Update page. Click the Empezar button:
The configuration page for connecting to the database will open.
In the section labeled base de datos Dolibarr, complete the fields Nombre de la base de datos, Login and Contraseña with the details of the database created earlier. Once you have completed the fields, click the button labeled Siguiente paso ->:
You can find the names in the tab labeled DB in the Hestia panel and assign whichever password you prefer:
On the following installation pages, click the buttons labeled Siguiente paso -> until you reach the page titled Creación de la cuenta administrador, where you must set your username and password to log in to the Dolibarr panel:
After these steps, you can access the Dolibarr panel login page from your domain:
Important
After completing the installation, you must create an empty file named install.lock inside the Dolibarr directory documents and give it read-only permissions (chmod 444) to lock the installer.
If you need to update in the future, you will have to rename or delete this file.
