At Clouding we don't like hanging around. That's why we aim to make everything instantaneous or at least as fast as possible.
Create a cloud server at Clouding with the setup that you choose is incredibly fast.
But we don`t just make cloud servers quick to create, we also aim to make any action as fast as possible.
Create a server from a Clouding image
The most typical action: you can select one of the images that we have at your disposal to create a Cloud Server with pre-installed software.
Remember
The cloud server will be created in just a few seconds, but the system may have to install the software you have selected. Depending on the complexity of it, it is possible that your server may stay for a few minutes in "Optimizing Software ..."
Create a Snapshot
Snapshots are stored on hard drives, rather than solid state drives, to reduce the cost, so we can offer you a better price.
Even so, the process is instantaneous, since our high-performance distributed storage system is able to take a snapshot your server in the cabins with solid-state drives and transfer it in the background to the normal disk booths, once the snapshot is created.
Create a server from a Snapshot
Although Snapshots are stored on traditional hard drives, our high-performance distributed storage system is capable of moving Snapshot data to a new server's disk while it is already booted and running.
As such, you can create a server from a Snapshot as fast as when you create a server from one of our images.
Duplicate a server
Our high performance distributed storage system is capable of creating a new disk from an existing one in less than a second. You can have a clone of your server up and running in just a few seconds.
Create a server from a backup
This is the only case in which the process will not be instantaneous, and it's because at Clouding there is only one thing more important than performance and that is safety and stability.
The backup storage system is completely separate from the normal storage system, to prevent a problem spreading from one system to another.
This means that in order to create a new server from a backup of another server, it is necessary to copy all the data from the Backups system to the high performance distributed storage system.
This operation can take a long time depending on the size of the server disk. For example, a 5GB disk will only take a few seconds, but a 1900GB disk may take much longer.
Therefore, in these situations you can simply tell the control panel to email you a notification once the process is complete, so, at least, you won't have to wait.
