Before starting the migration
You will have to take into account the acquisition of a new license in order to migrate the specific account with all associated data to the new server.
For more information about licenses, you can access the following link link: Ispmanager plans
Prepare migration
First, we must locate the data we want to import. In this case, we will import a domain with all its directory.
We will go to the ISPManager options panel and within it we will locate the option “User Import”. Once located, we will click on the option.
Once we enter the import tool, in case we have ISP 5 or ISP 6, we recommend to select the import by means of rsync, since, the synchronization of directories and files will be carried out with much more speed. In case the source server has ISP 4, we recommend selecting the option “ispmanager 4 Control Panel”.
When we have selected the desired option, we will enter the URL of the source panel, the SSH port, the root user and the root user password.
As you can see, it has already connected to the source server. Here the selection is to our liking, but as we want to bring everything from the other server, we will select all the users with their respective data, besides importing all the DBs and other files.
When we click “Next”, we will see all the imported items including domains, mailboxes, FTP users and certificates.
Finally, we can go to the “Websites” section to check that our web domain has been imported and assigned a new IP address.
Modify DNS
Once the user or users have been imported with the corresponding information to the other ISPManager server, it is important to change the DNS records to match the new IP.
In case you have the DNS records in our platform, here is the article that will help you in this process: Configuring DNS zones for our server.
