All web browsers have a cache of data from pages you have visited. This makes browsing those pages smoother by avoiding the need to reload the same data.
However, this feature can sometimes be unhelpful when you want to reload new content on a page that has recently changed, either because you modified the content or restarted the web service on your Virtual Server.
For this reason, all browsers have a tool for clearing the cache. In this post, we will explain how to clear the caches of the most widely used browsers.
Chrome
To clear the cache in Google's Chrome browser, go to the top right where there are three vertical dots, and click Eliminar datos de navegación:
A window will then open where you can delete certain temporary browsing data. You can select whichever items you want, but the most important one in this case is Archivos e imágenes almacenados en caché:
Firefox
To clear this browser's cache, go to the top right where there are three horizontal bars, and click Ajustes:
A window will then open. Click the “Buscar en ajustes” field and then type “caché”, where you will see the “Contenido web cacheado” section with its “Limpiar datos...” button:
Select "Archivos y páginas temporales en caché" and click "Limpiar":
Microsoft Edge
To clear the cache in Microsoft Edge, go to the top right where there are three horizontal dots and click "Configuración":
Once you click “Configuración”, the Configuración menu will open. From there, click the “Borrar datos de exploración” section, then “Archivos e imágenes en memoria caché” and "Borrar ahora":
Opera
To clear the cache in the Opera browser, click the three horizontal bars at the top right and scroll down to find "Datos de navegación", then click "Vaciar":
This will open a panel where you can select "Imágenes y ficheros en caché" and click "eliminar datos":
Safari
To clear the cache in the Safari browser, go to “Settings” in the "Safari" tab:
Now select the "Privacy" section and click "Manage website Data...":
A pop-up will open. Select "Remove All" and "Done" to finish:
