Drupal is a free, modular, multipurpose, highly configurable Content Management System that lets you publish articles, images, and files and also offers additional services such as forums, surveys, polls, blogs, and user and permission management. Drupal is a dynamic system: instead of storing its content in fixed static files in the server's file system, the text content of pages and other settings are stored in a database and edited using a Web environment.
It is a free CMS, licensed under GNU/GPL, written in PHP, compatible with MySQL, and developed and maintained by an active community of users. It stands out for the quality of its code and generated pages, its adherence to web standards, and its special emphasis on usability and consistency throughout the system.
