CloudPanel is a free (open-source) server control panel designed for performance and security. It uses lightweight components such as NGINX, PHP-FPM, and MySQL. With it, you can add domains, users, and databases in no time, as well as run and manage server applications and services.
It has a Dashboard for information and charts about your instance. It includes a vhost editor, PHP configuration, basic authentication, a log viewer, automated acquisition of free SSL certificates. It also includes an IP blocker to block traffic from unwanted ipv4 or ipv6 addresses and a bot blocker, where you can enter their names to deny access to all your websites.
You can easily add an SSH/SFTP user for secure remote login and add a public key to a user for key authentication. You can also add an FTP user to connect through the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and it has a task scheduler that lets you create tasks using templates, for example, to run a script every minute.
MySQL databases can be added and managed through the well-known tool phpMyAdmin. Database users can be added with different permissions, and by default all databases are backed up once a night. These backups can be downloaded through CloudPanel.
It also includes a CloudPanel CLI, a command-line application that provides commands to back up databases, restore them, display database credentials, disable two-factor authentication, reset passwords, and reset permissions.
Requirements
CloudPanel is only available for the latest versions of Debian and Ubuntu, so in this case you will need to use the Debian 11 or Ubuntu 22.04 LTS image, the server must have at least 10 Gigabytes of storage, and the DNS record you will use for the CloudPanel panel must point to the server's IP address.
Preliminary steps
Update repositories, upgrade and install the following required packages:
# apt update && apt -y upgrade && apt -y install curl wget gnupg2 sudo
Change the server name to your domain record for the server:
# hostnamectl set-hostname cloudpanel.dominio.com
Also add the record to the localhost line:
# nano /etc/hosts
Installing CloudPanel
Once you have completed the preliminary steps, simply run the official script and choose the database engine:
# curl -sSL https://installer.cloudpanel.io/ce/v2/install.sh | bash
# curl -sSL https://installer.cloudpanel.io/ce/v2/install.sh | DB_ENGINE=MARIADB_10.11 bash
