CyberPanel is the first open-source control panel that supports OpenLiteSpeed and LiteSpeed Enterprise natively. You can use it completely free of charge and without limitations with OpenLiteSpeed with one of the compatible Linux Images and they have a very active community. However, if you prefer, you can choose to deploy a LiteSpeed Enterprise license.
The panel includes an auto-installer for popular applications such as Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, and Mautic, among others. If you need them, it also includes a mail server (Postfix), a DNS server (PowerDNS), an FTP server (PureFTPd), among many other services and options such as MultiPHP, AutoSSL, memcached, etc.
In this article, we will explain how to install CyberPanel using the auto-installer provided on the official support page on a clean installation of any of the operating systems mentioned above. Keep in mind that the minimum requirements are one GB of RAM and ten GB of disk space to perform the installation.
Installing CyberPanel on CentOS
First, we recommend updating the repositories and packages on the system before installing the panel. Run the following depending on the operating system:
# yum check-update && yum updateOnce the update is complete, you can directly install the panel by running the script:
# sh <(curl https://cyberpanel.net/install.sh || wget -O - https://cyberpanel.net/install.sh)When run, it will perform checks and a menu will appear to start the installation. Choose the installation option:
CyberPanel Installer v2.3.1
1. Install CyberPanel.
2. Exit.
Please enter the number[1-2]: 1
and another menu will appear to choose between the open-source version and the paid version of LiteSpeed:
CyberPanel Installer v2.1.2
RAM check : 184/981MB (18.76%)
Disk check : 7/30GB (27%) (Minimal 10GB free space)
1. Install CyberPanel with OpenLiteSpeed.
2. Install Cyberpanel with LiteSpeed Enterprise.
3. Exit.
Please enter the number[1-3]: 1Enter the number and press Enter; for Enterprise, you will be prompted to enter the license. It will also ask whether you want to perform a full installation:
Install Full service for CyberPanel? This will include PowerDNS, Postfix and Pure-FTPd.
Full installation [Y/n]: YConfirm the full installation; if you do not need any of the services, you can disable them later. At the next question:
Do you want to setup Remote MySQL? (This will skip installation of local MySQL)
(Default = No) Remote MySQL [y/N]:We recommend leaving the default, not configuring remote access to MySQL by simply pressing Enter. At the next question about the version, also press Enter directly to install the latest version:
Press Enter key to continue with latest version or Enter specific version such as: 1.9.4 , 2.0.1 , 2.0.2 ...etc
Then indicate whether you want to enter a password manually or randomly; we do not recommend the default option:
Choose [d]fault, [r]andom or [s]et password: [d/r/s]
It will then ask whether you need memcached; confirm if you do:
Do you wish to install Memcached process and its PHP extension?
Please select [Y/n]: Y
The same applies to Redis; install it if you need it:
Do you wish to install Redis process and its PHP extension?
Please select [Y/n]: Y
Finally, it will ask whether you want to install WatchDog:
Would you like to set up a WatchDog (beta) for Web service and Database service?
The watchdog script will be automatically started up after installation and server reboot
If you want to kill the watchdog , run watchdog kill
Please type Yes or no (with capital Y, default Yes): Y
Our recommendation is to install it even though it is a test version; it should not cause problems and will help if there is a freeze. After this final question, the installation of packages and CyberPanel will begin. When it finishes, it will display the default configuration and the access details for the panels:

If your provider has a network-level firewall
Please make sure you have opened following port for both in/out:
TCP: 8090 for CyberPanel
TCP: 80, TCP: 443 and UDP: 443 for webserver
TCP: 21 and TCP: 40110-40210 for FTP
TCP: 25, TCP: 587, TCP: 465, TCP: 110, TCP: 143 and TCP: 993 for mail service
TCP: 53 and UDP: 53 for DNS service
Your provider seems blocked port 25 , E-mail sending may not work properly.
Would you like to restart your server now? [y/N]: Y
Confirm the restart and, before accessing the panel, remember that in the Clouding firewall profile, the access ports are not open for CyberPanel. First, you will need to create the rules in the firewall profile for port 8090 TCP. You will therefore also need to open other ports, such as the passive FTP port; review the configuration after the installation finishes to verify the firewall.
Once you have opened the access port, you can use a web browser to enter the URL and credentials provided by the installer to log in to CyberPanel for the first time:
Once you have logged in, you will have finished installing CyberPanel and accessed it. We hope this tutorial has helped you. Have you tried it? Leave us your comments! 🙂
