In the Clouding control panel you have the option to shut down the server in case you decide not to use it for a certain period of time.
Although this option is available to users, remember that both Active and Shutdown servers consume the same amount. This is because when the server is Shutdown, the CPU and RAM remain assigned to your server, so with these resources reserved, the billing is the same as when it is Active.
There is another status called Archived, where the RAM and CPU are detached from the server and only the SSD disk, which is the most economical resource, is billed. You can review this article to Archive your cloud server.
If after reading this brief explanation about the difference between having the server Active/Archived/Shutdown, you want to Shutdown the server, we briefly explain how to do it.
Access the Clouding control panel
Once you are logged in and are in the control panel, you need to go to Servers > My Servers.
Once you have accessed My Servers, you can locate the server you want to shut down.
Shut Down the cloud server.
When you have located it, click on the three dots that appear on the right of the server information, and a menu will be displayed:
You will have to click on the “Shutdown” option and a confirmation notice like the following will appear:
Once confirmed, the server will proceed to change its status to Stopped.
We hope this has been helpful. Remember, if you have questions about this or any other issue related to your servers on Clouding, do not hesitate to write to support@clouding.io We are here for whatever you need, so feel free to ask us!
