By default, when you install Plesk it provides some PHP FPM versions, for example it currently comes with versions 8.1, 8.2, 8.3 and 8.4 enabled. If you use older applications or if you’ve had Plesk installed for a while and require older versions, you’ll need to install them through the Plesk tools.
If you need very old versions such as PHP 5.4 (keep in mind that it’s not recommended to use versions without updates for security reasons) you’ll have to do it in a custom way, you can see how to do it in the following link: Add custom PHP versions in Plesk.
Install the version
First, in the Plesk panel as administrator, go to Tools & Settings -> Updates
Then Add/Remove Components:
Once there, expand the Web hosting and PHP interpreter versions section, there you can select the active versions. Once you click Continue, it will install and prepare the version you want:
Configure on the domain
Once the installation of the chosen version is finished, you’ll be able to select it. Go to the domain and in Dev Tools press PHP:
There you already have the installed version ready to use:
