Of the many options Plesk offers to configure backups of our websites and email, one of them is the possibility of configuring our external backup to an Object Storage service.
In the following tutorial we will explain how to configure an Object Storage in Plesk to send the backup of our server there.
To do so, we will need to install an extension that provides access to the software generally used with Object Storage. If you want a service that offers this possibility, you can take a look at BlackBlaze or Wasabi.
To configure the bucket of our Object Storage in Plesk, we must install this extension in Plesk.
Go to Tools & Settings > Backup Manager > Remote Storage Settings and click the extension icon to configure it.
You will need to enter the following details:
- Service Provider: Here you must select Custom.
- API EndPoint URL: Here you must add the URL of your service, which your provider must supply.
- Login (Key): You must add your provider’s ACCESS_KEY.
- Password (Secret): You must add your provider’s SECRET_ACCESS_KEY.
- Bucket: The bucket name.
- Path: If you want it to be stored in a specific path, add it here.
Once you have this configured, you must set up the backups by clicking Schedule.
Important
This extension is paid, so if you want backups to run automatically, you will need to purchase the extension from the Plesk store and then configure Object Storage as indicated in this tutorial.
You can also generate backups manually:
