You can program Backups of your Cloud Servers in Clouding.io. In this post we explain how to activate them, set them up and desactivate them in your client panel.
Create backups
Access your control panel and click on My Servers. Then, select your server's name and click on Backups.
Click on the blue tab "ENABLE BACKUPS".
A pop-up window will unfold so that you setup the features of your backups. In order to create your first backup, you will have to choose:
- The frequency: each day, every 2 days, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 days.
- The number of backups or "slots": the minimum is 2 and the maximum, 30.
Price of the backups
When you choose the backups, be aware that the measure unit for the price is 0,50€ per month for each block of 75 GB of SSD disk of your Cloud Server. The frequency does not affect the price. A Server with a 75 GB disk and 2 backups with a 3-day frequency has a price of 3€ per month. A Server with 75 GB of SSD disk and 2 backups with a 6-day frequency, has the same price, 3€ per month. A Server with 100 GB of SSD disk and 3 backups with a 3-day frequency, has a price of 6€.
In the example, we have chosen 4 backups with a 7-day frequency. A pop-up will open where indicates "Updating preferences of backup" is indicated.
At the top, in "Preferences of current backups", since it is the first backup that we create, it indicates that "The backups are currently deactivated".
At the bottom, in "New preferences on backups", you have to choose the features of the new backup. In the example, 4 backups with a weekly frequency. In "New price of backups", it indicates the approximate price of the new backup. In the example, the price of the Server plus the chosen backup is 6,00€ (without VAT) per month.
Once you have chosen the backup that you want, click on "SUBMIT".
The screen will indicate that "Your backup has been scheduled and it will be available during the next 24 hours".
Once created, the "Actions" icon will be in red, the state will be "Created" and under the column "Available backups" you will see the date and time of creation of the backup. The first backup is ready! :)
Since the option that we have chosen is 4 weekly backups, the first one has been created. The other three will be created with a weekly frequency until the four backups that hace been programmed appear in the column "Available backups" there are the four backups that have been programmed. After those 4 weeks, the oldest backup will be eliminated and will be substituted by a more recent one and so on. In the example, the first backup was created on July 4th.
Updating Backups
If you want to update the backup that you created, click on the "Update backup preferences" tab.
A pop-up window will open where indicates "Update backup preferences" is indicated.
At the top, in "Preferences of current backups", are the features of the chosen backup. In the example, 4 weekly backups. Besides this, in "Current Price Backups", the price of the chosen backup is indicated, in the example, 6,00€ per month (Approx) without VAT.
At the bottom, in "New Backup Preferences", you can choose the features for the new backup that will replace the previous one. In the example, we have chosen 12 backups with a 3-day frequency. In "New Price Backups" you can see the price of the Server plus the new selected backup, in the example, 18,00€ per month (Approx) without VAT.
Once chosen the features of the backup to be replaced, click on "SUBMIT".
The panel will show the new backup that replaces the previous one.
Disabling Backups
Click on the red tab that indicates "Disable Backups".
A pop-up will open so that you confirm that you want it to be disabled and to give your opinion, if desired.
