In this article, we explain how to update Plesk components (“Actualizar Componentes”) and how to upgrade Plesk to later versions (“Actualizar versión”).
Note
Before installing updates, we recommend that you create a snapshot of the server so that you can quickly restore it to its previous state if a problem occurs.
Update components from the command line

Plesk 12.5, Onyx and Obsidian Linux and Windows:
# plesk installer --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --upgrade-installed-components -
Plesk 11.x and 12.0 Linux:
# /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller --select-product-id plesk --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --install-component panel -
Plesk 11.x and 12.0 Windows:
“%plesk_bin%\ai.exe” –console --select-product-id panel --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --install-component panel
Update components from Plesk
Open your Plesk panel and go to “Herramientas y Configuración > Plesk > Actualizaciones”. In the next window, click “Actualización de componentes”. A list of components to update will appear. When you click “continuar”, the updates for these components and minor Plesk updates will be installed.
Upgrade the Plesk version from the command line
Plesk 12.5, Onyx and Obsidian Linux and Windows:

Open your Plesk panel and go to “Herramientas y Configuración > Plesk > Actualizaciones”. In the next window, click “Instalación o actualización del producto”. The next window will display a drop-down list of stable Plesk versions. When you select the Plesk version and click “continuar”, the new version of Plesk will be installed.
Upgrade Plesk to a beta version from the command line
This section is recommended only for testing new Plesk versions that are not yet stable. It is not recommended for production servers.
