If you have your first server in Clouding, probably you have some doubts as how to perform different actions with your new server. In this article, we explain all you need to know to start using your Linux server in Clouding.
First thing you must know is that all Clouding servers are unmanaged, which means that all that has to be done in it, you have to do it by yourself.
For this reason, you must know that all our Linux servers have a complete access through SSH and that you can connect using PuTTY from Windows or from a Terminal with GNU/Linux or Mac.
If you can't connect or the access to some applications does not work, please, remember that you must enable ports on the Firewall profile of your server or use the Firewall profile called 'Default'
All our cloud servers have an installed service called cloud-init, which use is to setup the root user as well as to reset the password. It also allows you to resize the disc automatically when you resize your server's resources.
If during the packages update, the service deactivates and does not resize the disc, please, remember that you can extend the partitions manually.
Your Linux server can only have one public IP available and it can't be changed once the server has been created. It is not possible either to add more than one IP per server.
All VMs on your account have the possibility to activate a private network. This way, they can communicate between them without having to access the Internet.
Remember as well that once created the server, you can activate the server backups or create a snapshot before performing any important change.
If you want to, you can have a look to all the Clouding available pre-images or see all the Linux images available as well as tutorials about relevant topics.
If you have questions about the service that have not been answered in this article, please, remember that you can always contact us via support.
