In this article, we explain how to create an email account from the OpenPanel control panel.
Before you can create email accounts, you need to enable the Email module from the administrator profile.
This will allow users to view and manage their email accounts from their own panel.
Enable the Email Module from the Administrator Profile
Access the panel with an administrator user and go to the left sidebar menu:
Click Settings → Modules.
Locate the Email accounts module.
Enable it by clicking the Activate switch.
Enable the Email Service for Users in Hosting Plans
Once the Email accounts module is activated from the administrator settings, you must allow the use of email in the user packages or hosting plans so that they can create and manage their own accounts.
- In the left sidebar menu, go to
Hosting Plans→Feature Manager. - Locate the line Email accounts.
- Switch on the Enable option to allow users of that plan to use the email module.
Once enabled, users will be able to create and manage their own email accounts from the Emails section.
After adding the Email accounts module to the user plan, the system will display a notice at the top right indicating that a service needs to be restarted (“1 service needs restart”).
To apply the changes and make the email module fully operational:
- Click the blue notification that appears in the upper-right corner.
- OpenPanel will automatically restart the necessary services to apply the new configuration.
- Wait a few seconds until the panel confirms that the restart has been completed.
Create the Email Account from the User Panel
Now we’ll access the user’s account to create the email associated with their domain.
- In the left sidebar menu, click Emails.
- Click
Create Email Account. - Select the available domain from the dropdown list.
- Enter the desired mailbox name (for example: info, contact, sales, etc.).
- Enter a secure password and confirm it.
- Click Create to finish creating the account.
