Sometimes customers who try our servers are so happy with them that they decide to migrate their services from other providers to our platform. That's why we've put together this tutorial to explain how to perform a content migration from one cPanel server to another cPanel. Remember that you can also use a Plesk server to migrate content from cPanel with the Plesk Migrator.
If you don't have cPanel and have come here to transfer a server, you may find the article linked here useful.
Transferring cPanel content
After creating the server with the preinstalled cPanel image or installing it manually on Clouding, you'll need to access the destination WHM panel and expand the Transfers section of the menu to click the tool Transfer Tool in cPanel:
Next, you'll need to enter the source server's details. To migrate all the content, you'll need the root user's credentials for the source cPanel server. If you only have access to a user account, you'll only be able to migrate the domains belonging to that account:
Once you've entered the login details, click the Scan Remote Server button at the bottom. The scanning process will start, and once it finishes, all the domains available for migration will be displayed:
Select the domains you want to copy and click the Copy button to start migrating the content. Before doing so, be sure to clear the checkbox for Live Transfer if you don't want the DNS records to change automatically once the transfer is complete. Once it finishes, the transfer and restoration report will appear:
The user should now appear in the account list, and you'll be able to access their cPanel panel with all the content. All that remains is to update the domain's DNS records to point to the new server if you disabled Live Transfer.
